About Us

Lifeline Center is a licensed day treatment center and special school located in Queens Village, New York serving emotionally handicapped and developmentally delayed children from the greater metropolitan area and Nassau County. 

  • Founded in 1959 as an educational therapeutic milieu serving the greater metropolitan area.
  • Lifeline Center’s specialized programs are organized within a supportive, structured, therapeutic environment that facilitates the child’s functioning in the everyday world.
  • Lifeline’s experienced, multi-disciplinary staff provides the warmth and encouragement that helps each child achieve maximum potential.  Long-range planning for each child and his/her family is an important part of our program.
  • The day treatment program is an integrated clinical and educational therapeutic milieu designed to prepare our students to return to less restrictive educational programs.
  • Our Pre School program serves children three to five years of age. The School Age Program serves children kindergarten to 12th grade, and is part of P23Q District 75 New York City Department of Education.
  • Lifeline Center is licensed by New York State Office of Mental Health as a day treatment center.
